I'm hearing conflicting flow rates from my contacts at PacifiCorp, could be as high as 1400.

1400 cfs is pretty sweet. Enjoy to all that can make it! Be safe, 1400 is not your average bear.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to go tomorrow. I hope you're able to find people to run it with, Brighton. The run at that level was awesome in April.

yikes! wish they would step the flow up; 2hrs @1100, then crank it. Cant make it either way..

I'm definitely interested. Class IV boater in Colorado this spring, but have not done much in the last two months since moving to Utah (Upper Logan and lower Logan and BV at 265). Don't want to get over my head, but can leave Park City at 1 PM.

Hi Wil-
Daniel A has a good description here

Sounds like its big water IV+ @1400, with a V- that is a difficult portage.

To clarify: in describing the portage as difficult, Bill means it's strenuous (as opposed to easy to miss). If you feel up to it and there's a good crew going, you should definitely go. It's an awesome run.

Re: Black canyon release 8/31
Bill, thanks for the info. I tried finding this on EF yesterday and couldn't. IV+ sounds a little too much for me right now. Are there any other sections that will be getting some good flow that aren't as big? Anyone interested in running something a little more chill? I would definitely like to get the boat wet, and would love to find another quality section near Park City.

Joes Valley is running at a decent flow; its more like IV-, super fun. Greys river near Alpine WY is probably the next closest IV run I know of thats running now. not to mention great playboating on the Snake there.

Bill, everything in Joes has changed since the high water. The few that have been on it have said its harder then before at these flows.

Re: Black canyon release 8/31
Good to know, thanks Justin! Would you say midrange IV then? I suppose the road-scout-ability would still help (esp compared to BCotB).

Re: Black canyon release 8/31
Murtaugh is another class IV that's running right now. Would anyone want to run it next weekend (after labor day) or the weekend after?

I would be for the Murtaugh either weekend. My son guides out of Twin Falls runs it all spring. I'm sure he would Join to.

I am not going to be able to do it the next two weekends. If someone wants to do it in early October (and the Murtaugh is still running), I would be up for it then.
