Jackson Area this weekend
We'll be going up to the Jackson, Wy area this
weekend. We'll do Granite Creek and the Hobach River (class III).
Other possible runs are, upper Greys river (class III), Alpine (normally
class III), and the lower Gros Ventre River (normally class IV). All
of the rivers are very high so we will probably stick to the class III
runs unless a good group wants to do the Gros Ventre.
Give me a call or send an e-mail if you are interested in joining us.

Everything is raging
I was just up there and everthing is brown and super high. I would check out the Hoback and Granite Creek. I ran Granite from the falls to the Hoback and found it clean and fun. I did not do the Hoback due to time issues, but it looked good to go. Some rafters I talked to said it was clean from Granite to the bridge at the mouth of the canyon by the sulfer springs.
The Snake was huge and scary looking (the boils, sucks, etc) and I had no inclination to run it.
I did not look at the Gros Ventre other than drove over it at Teton Park on the way to Jenny Lake, but it was super muddy and huge.
I suspect the Greys was huge too, but only saw it where it dumped into Palisades where it was muddy.
PS. The hot springs up Granite were still closed, but a note said they would be open yesterday.
...And the bugs were just barely starting, so bring a lot of bug dope. It'll be Alaska grade this year for mosquitoes.
