Jackson Area June 30 - July 1
We'll be going up to the Jackson, Wy area next weekend, June 30 – July 1. We’ll be driving up Friday night and kayaking Saturday & Sunday. Possible rivers include:
Granite Creek and the Hobach River (class III),
Upper Greys river (class III)
Alpine on the Snake (class III)
lower Gros Ventre River (class IV).
They are predicting that the flow rates will drop next week. We will be doing the Hobach but the other rivers will depend on flow rates. We will probably camp either at the Kozy Campground upstream along the Hobach River near the confluence with Granite Creek or at the large campground near the end of the Granite Creek Road.
Give me a call or send an e-mail if you are interested in joining us.

If anyone plans on going through Rexburg I need a boat picked up if someone can help me out. Just think you could end your weekend by hucking Lower Mesa a must do for any Class IV boater.

I've never been to Kozy or the Granite Creek camp, but here is what I googled, is it correct?
Kozy - 12.9 Miles East of Hoback Junction on N side of road.
Granite - 11.3 Miles East of Hoback Junction, then left (North) up Granite Creek road (marked) and go 8.7 miles, there are 3 unmarked loops. There is a hot spring .7 miles further up the road.
Is someone going early to score a camp? Will the club banner be there? How will we know where the club is?

That's the location. We usually put in either on Granite Creek or at the confluence of Granite Creek and the Hobach.
I'm hoping to leave early, about 2:00 friday. If someone can leave earlier, let me know.

Might be heading up with the Krew. Still recovering from 5 days at powell. I will drop you a line if things look like they are pointed in that direction. If the counter is still in may just park and play though.

Wife and I will be in the area this weekend- might try to join up with you guys at some point- she doesn't kayak though. She might be interested in floating the Hoback in a ducky though. We might rent a raft for the Alpine canyon stretch Sunday AM.
