At mile post 188 where the river comes right back next to the road the high water has formed a gravel bar that forces almost all the current out though the trees. There are a few narrow paths though (3-4ft. wide), but the widest one has a root ball at the bottom end of the slot which is hard to see from above. You could walk your boat over the gravel bar or take the left channel around the island abt. 200 yds. up stream. You can scout the river from the road if you park across from milepost 188. I think when the water goes down the left channel around the island won't have enough water to run. I think a kayak will be ok in the slots between trees, but it's too narrow for a raft. I put some images on my facebook page if you are interested or contact me when you come to run it. ronald.hamblin@gmai.com
