Sevier River - July 6th
The UWC is holding its 4th annual trip on the Sevier River! This is a great class 3 run amidst beautiful southern Utah scenery. The club has reserved sites #24 & #25 for Friday July 5th and Saturday July 6th at the Castle
Rock Campground.
The location and directions to Castle Rock Campground can be found at the link below. It is just south of I-70 via exit 17.

If you are not joining us for the camping Friday night, we will be meeting for the first run on Saturday morning at 10:30 AMM at the put in which is located directly across the road from Big Rock Candy Mtn. Look for a road and bridge across the river just a little bit north of the resort iteslf. In years past, we have met at the rest area across from Hoovers. Now that there is a restroom at the put in it is more convenient to simply meet at the put in.

This is a really fun run through some spectacular scenery. Castle Rock Campground is also very nice. Hope to see a good turnout. As always, non members are welcome and will just need to sign a waiver and pay the $5.00 ACA insurance fee.

Dman, you got your packraft! Does it have a whitewater deck on it?

Yeah I found a Fjord Explorer with a Cruiser deck here in StGeorge for a smoking deal. Not the best for white water but it sure is roomy.

If you want to reduce most of the water from leaking in from the entrance, putting an inflated 12" or 16" bike tube around your waist. Then sinch the drawcord up over the top to keep water from pooling around your abdomin. Also, you can get more leverage by sitting on a folded self inflating 2.5" thick NeoAir with tapered corners (or that mat Alpacka sells). Works miracles for manueverability to sit up high, helps keep water out, and it protects your behind much better than a bucket seat does (if that is what you have). I think that the new inflatable thigh brace that you put between the legs is really handy too. I wish I had your boat.

I would also recommend attaching some straps to the pack loops to use as grab handles. Do not move the packraft by grasping the fabric of the cruiser deck.

Yeah, gonna do the whole rigging thing asap. Are you coming down for the Sevier trip? It would be good to finally meet you.

I would like to do the Sevier trip. I tend to have a hard time getting rides.
