New Boise Whitewater Park
Boise has a great new state of the art whitewater park just down the sidewalk from Idaho River sports. It has computer controlled gates to adjust the size of the play wave and hydraulically controlled underwater platforms to control the size of the play wave's foam pile.
Here is a web site for more information: http://www.cityofboise.org/Departments/Parks/ParksAndFacilities/Parks/page18154.aspx
I stopped by on my way home from the Payette. It was getting late and I had to get back to Salt Lake so I did not try it out but the play wave looked great and there were several kayakers going to town on it. I talked to a couple of guys adjusting things in the adjacent control room who are stopping by once a day to adjust the wave if needed. They told me they are hoping to have a year round playable wave at the park.
Check it out if you get up to Boise.
I would love to get something like that locally like in Riverdale or Salt Lake City.

It took them ten years of hard work to get that one built in Boise FYI.
