Will the Virgin put out?
Here's a crazy wishful thought. If the Virgin is going to flow high
enough at all this year, it may well be early next week. Who would
be interested in getting down there on a moment's notice if it does?

how low would you want to do it? Suppose it gets to 300 or 350?

The section from the Temple of Sinawava to the Western Park Entrance is runnable at 300 though better at 500

I've ran from the Temple to the visitor center around 250 cfs. It was bumpy but fun. It gets really fun at 1k where there is no rocks.

Re: Will the Virgin put out?
good points... but for the Narrows; I suppose 300 would be doable, but mostly hiking in to the Deep creek confluence.. maybe a good packraft level?

Re: Will the Virgin put out?
I would only want to do the drive if the Narrows was in the picture. 350+ would work for me. Question is, would the road up be free of snow? This is a world class run.

Re: Will the Virgin put out?
I'd packraft it Bill, or hit up Coal or Beaver Creeks, maybe the Uintas? Do you or anyonr else want to pick me up and hit up some rivers? Heck I'll even carry some of your paddling gear into the Deep Creek confluence for ya. If you want to meet me up at the Timpanogos Cave parking lot (near my new camp) let me know and I will be waiting for you or anyone else that wants to paddle this weekend. I here the American Fork is forcasted to run around a hundred cfs in a few days.

Scott, I'm gonna stay up here tomorrow (Logan or OPP), and probably head to ID on Sunday; unless the Virgin really bumps up tomorrow (sorry man!). Virgin is 132 right now. The Malad is kinda running (469 and dropping), and sounds like Deep Creek is running (i don't know where that is; hmm). Staircase is 3480 and rising. Staircase is pretty awesome around 4500 as I recall.
