Re: crystal wave
I'll just piggyback this thread...
I'll be playing, this Monday evening, around 430, at Crystal's Wal-Mart Hobo Wave (or whatever your preference is for calling it). In case someone wants to go and not be alone with the raging torrent which is the Ogden River or the camping hobos.

Yes, the problem is an easy fix and its def not an "OPP type crowd" hanging out there. See you there Brian

Confused??????
Granted, I haven't been to the Wally Wave but at 99 cfs is it better than the OPP at 523 cfs? I know it was designed as a low flow feature but 523 cfs at OPP is pretty good.
I am going to OPP right now if anyone wants to join me-I'll bring the pistol so you don't have to.

Re: crystal wave
You would like the eddylines Augie. No worries, always have my attitude adjuster around.

Re: crystal wave
Are the eddylines any better than OPP? I looked at Wally Wave but it looked kind of weak.
The second drop at OPP has changed a bit. It looks like a rock shifted and there is a pile downstream of the normal drop. I didn't probe it too hard cause I didn't have my PFD on, but I think there is something close to the surface. I only went about 3 feet down and didn't hit anything but it is different.
Anyone want to meet there tomorrow for some play? I can be there about 4. I will be coming from work so I won't be armed though.

Chin deep with pfd on. Worked for me and no rocks down below the wave

Re: crystal wave
Ref gauge readings, you need to add about 100 cfs to whatever the gauge is reading as the gauge is in a section that is diverted and Crystals is below where it's put back in.
There were changes scheduled to be made yesterday at 2pm to enhance the feature. Will be heading out there this afternoon to check it out.

Re: crystal wave
It was an improvement. The pile has moved a few feet downstream, possibly enough to clear the angle slab with the bow. It's taller, steeper and a touch wider but still not developing a big enough foam pile to be retentive enough for side surfing. Great front surf though. Surfer left eddy is smaller and the surfer right eddy is bigger and a bit slower. They are not completely done moving large rocks to tweek it. No bums either.
