Provo River Saturday Empty Provo River Saturday

Post by brianteats Wed 06 Apr 2011, 11:22 am

Since it's a two hour drive from Ogden, it'd be nice to plan well in advance.
I really want to do the 'Middle Provo' section, right below Jordanelle. Two reasons, for possibly leading new paddlers in the future(such as the misses), and I've never done it before- want to 'check it off the list'.
Afterwords, since I'm in the area, it would be nice to get on Bridal Veil.
So if anyone's up for a two-fer on Saturday, or just the Middle Provo, reply or text me.
Something like 12noon meet at the Middle Provo put in?

I will probably be doing laps on BV late afternoon on Saturday depending on how morning plans with the wife work out.

Looks like one possible confirmation at 10am, any other takers for this section of river you've never done before and some new scenery are more than welcome.(dress warm)
Leaves plenty of time to get a lap, or two, in on BV later

I'd like to go with you. Would you be able to pick me up with my hardshell?

Sure, Scott! However, if it ends up being just the two of us (for Middle Provo), I'll have to throw my bike in the back so we at least have a bike to run shuttle. No worries, I could use the exercise!
Then BV afterwards?

For some unknown reason, my cell phone has just ceased all functionality, soooooo....
If anyone else is planning on doing this, please reply here or meet at the put-in (bottom of Jordanelle Reservior dam) @ 10am.
The weather forecast is absolutely miserable for tomorrow, so it should be awesome on the river! haha

Hey Scott, assuming you haven't changed addresses since I last picked you up, I'll see you at around 9-915am!

Never made it, too cold and snowy. Maybe in a few weekends it'll get nice enough to lure some more people

Trying this again tomorrow- Flows are holding, weather should be nice!
Work out your post-winter paddle cobwebs on an easy stretch of river!

Followed up with a lap, or two, on Bridal Veil; if you dare.

10am was the idea. meet at the put-in/run shuttle; at the bottom of Jordanele Dam
Not sure about how long it takes to float(hour or so?), but there'll certainly be enough time left in the day to get a BV run in afterwards

Unless it's something unexpectedly spectacular, we probably won't run it again.
