Retro River Day - Sept 19th 12-4, Provo River Vivian Park

Retro River Day! (412th semi-annual conference of the old school)

Bring the oldest kayaking gear you can find and paddle it down the Provo river. 
Dust off that Dancer. Pull the Pirouette out of your grandma's basement. Rinse off that Harmony gear. Try the D.I. if you dare but GET READY TO PADDLE!

If you are in it to win it here's how it will go down: 
Boat - 5 points for each foot longer than 9. 
Gear - 2 points for each distinct shade of neon (faded counts)
Bonus - 1 point for each item manufactured before George W. was in the white house.

Grand prize is a still sealed, 1994 Utah Jazz, commemorative glass bottle of Coke. 
This is a rare, near priceless artifact of a by gone era 
(when the jazz could win a few play off games before the season ended).

Gear parade and judging will begin at noon at Vivian Park pavilion #2. We will run the river until 3ish and then share stories and snacks and beverages until 4:00 when the Percy-Lyman matriarch kicks us out to start the family quilting square.

All participants will be photographed by a marginally functional poloroid camera and a modern digital back up camera just in case.
