Provo river below Deer Creek rafting
Ok, I'm fishing for info. I've been hooked on whitewater rafting for 6 years now. But I have kids that are younger, 6 years and up, that always want to go 'rafting'. I got to thinking that I might take a gentle float down the Provo with some of them. I've got a Riken 14' oar boat and was thinking we could put in some place a bit below Deer Creek and float down to the South Fork turn off or so.
I've NEVER been on the Provo though so is it more than just a gentle float? We have all the correct safety gear, I just don't want to take my 8 year old on white knuckle rapids... just looking to get out and float along the river.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Yes; The Provo directly below Deer Creek is uber-friendly. Just mind the bridges/don't broach- seen well in advance.

The first half of Deer Creek to Vivian park is super scenic; it was nice class II at high water; probably flatter now. You might not fit through the Trestle bridge midway; that would be a good takeout. Below there is mostly class I, and along the highway.
This is popular, and flows in the summer; although its along I-84:

14 ft rafts go though that section all the time. Like said above, be mindful of the bridges. right side or center on both is mellow.
