Ogden paddling Wed May 18th, 5:30 PM
Anyone for Ogden area III/IV @5:30 PM?
Options include Pineview, 89 to Riverdale, or maybe the South Fork Ogden, lower half of narrows, or the Narrows.
Anyone done 89 to riverdale @3500?? would be quick anyway

I ran 89 to riverdale @3500 on saturday. It's fast, and fun. Play along the way. The second (if memory serves correct) bridge drop has a pretty sticky hole, almost river wide. Just a heads up! enjoy!

Looks like it's too wet to mow the grass- I guess I can boat this evening. I'd be up for an 89-RW run. I won't be available till about 6, though, if that'll work.

Meeting at 6 PM @OPP today (Thursday 5/19), to run 89 to OPP, if anyone wants to join.
Should be a relatively quick run, @3300.

I just want to say, what a great level for this run! Some of the bigger drops and rapids are starting to take on a very big-water/Westwater feel to them. And a usually two hour float can be done in a hour and a half, tops.
It's like our very own, local big-water run. Good stuff.

Hour and a half was for 89 down to 24th street/OPP; with Gateway @3340. Good times! notable surf waves at the 84 west onramp bridge drop; and top of slide one; not to mention Riverdale and OPP second wave. Slide 2 is a bigger drop than normal- sweet!
When talking ratings, seems we are always saying something like "the moves are class (whatever), but the consequence is higher". Well Riverdale seems like the opposite for a change. Class IV- bracing needed between the drops; but relatively low consequence (other than a possible chundering in the wave :-).
Wild to see the new bike path completely washed away below slide 2, and also by Fort Buenaventura. There is a mandatory roll bridge down there too; (Riverdale to 24th is not any easier than the rest at this flow).
