Running the Price
holy cats! gets spicy after the side by side train tunnels, eh?
Anyway, who's run the Price? I'd heard a certain Waddell character may have. I'm looking for beta on any hazards below the metal panel.
first bit looks straightforward at this low level as the rain bumped it. fun with lots of eddies still. 'mericun-whaht-whatah.org didn't even show cfs 2 days ago. i'll post here if it says what it was today around 645-845pm.
Secondly, who else is dying for some adventure? this is continuous class 4ish looking so far. . I wouldn't run it high myself but Mmmm mm tasty! got me some hurried ass training to get to. . .
going down this saturday a.m. for another scout of the more technical stuff below the mountain. (the river runs around a small mountain, leaving and then rejoining hwy 6).
it took me just an hour and 45 to get down there so it's fantastically close compared to the Payettes (6 hours). holler if your interested in joining me for a look and wanna feel out whether it's your style.

Re: Running the Price
Go run it. It looks harder than it is. Most of the run is 3+/4-. The best take out is a little bridge before you get to the diversion dams. There is a car pull out on the right that used to be the highway. It runs slower than it looks. Plenty of time for maneuvering. The crux, a quarter mile above the takeout is no joke. Scout it for wood etc. I have had more than a handfull of friends get fuckered up on this run. One quit boating. not hard, but non-stop. My favorite day on there it flashed on us and was like a roller coaster from heaven. When it is big, I don't think getting out of the boat is a smart option. At low flow, it is technical and fun with very low consequence. Wood is an issue, eddie hop it on the first run, bomb it on the second. It is all road side so you can pull out wherever. It definitely gets harder as you drop vert. Don't plan on being upside down much. It is shallow and rocks hurt.

Many thanks, C. Had a feeling it was a tad bony. Sounds perfect. Maybe it was the first of the two metal panels that gave me that impression. Panels schmanels. . . the fact that its continuous & not pool drop is f*n fantastic.
hoping a back strain cooperates in time to run it. You crazy kids have fun out there this weekend. I <3 rain.

hot diggity! i didn't make it down last sat. to scout more but am hoping my run on the mighty webe goes well. training back from a back strain on the s. fork payette.
I'll give you all a shout when i'm good to go but in the mean time if i'm not you should all run it if that area gets rain. Looks mighty tasty.
