Gas Drilling inside Desolation Canyon
Check out the following article link. Gasco wants to drill inside Desolation Canyon. It wouldn't take much for them to access the deposites they want to get to and stay outside of Desolation Canyon. They just don't want to pay a few extra bucks.

Re: Gas Drilling inside Desolation Canyon
Larry, thanks for posting. I signed it, and hope others will too. I haven't done Desolation yet, but hope to in the near future with my family. Hopefully it will be the pristine wilderness that it is now.
I can understand that we are an energy hungry country, but with as much money as the billion dollar companies will make from this, why can't they pay a little more upfront to be a little kinder to such an untainted place? Oh forgot the people making these decisons are money hungry, damn the world, nuke the whales kind of people. What a great world we live in.
