BEARiverfest 2012 edition; May 19th.
This is the Sixth annual! Same shenanigans as usual, except, this year we have scored a $1000 dollar purse for the winner's circle!

Craig, any details on the race course? I've never done this stretch, and it seems like as a time as any to try during the race.

It is 1 mile of class II/III- stuff. Play features, plus 1 non play type drop. Come up early and check it out. I'll be up there early setting the course and checking for hazards(9ish)and will most likely be the first down. After that, there will most likely be paddlers non-stop floating it until race time. There is nothing incredibly hard except for race stamina come lap three.

Thanks for the info. I hope I can make it up. Can we register online or is it only send in a check, as I wanna get me a t-shirt.

Online registration guarantees a shirt. It is coming up quick. Last year we wound up with a half dozen extras though.

Sorry for my idiocy, but where do you sign up online? I don't see anything on the poster above, except for a mail-in form.

Ugh, sorry i don't deal with that end of it. Just checked the link. That doesn't look online friendly at all. Hit me with an e-mail, and I'll make sure to hold a shirt for you. Be sure to give me a size.

Today kicked ass
by Craig Waddell on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 8:53pm ยท
The E-town race was phenomenal. A whole ton of SUPer's and kayakers took
the stage for the entertainment of the locals. Good turn out. One swim
after the finish line. Can't really beat it. i am rolling sun burned
and tired and content.
In all of the events I have managed, I have never worked with a more incredible group. Whether it be organizing the Ogden race, or a local throw down, this is the only group where you whisper and it gets done.
So the brass tacks. The safety crew, timers, staff in general deserve huge props.
These guys dedicated themselves with no compensation, and no one died(or
even got minorly wounded).
Love you all!
Here are the results:
Time trials(all paddlers):
1st. $100 Nick Turner
2nd. $75 Daniel Anderson
3rd. $50 David Wolfgram
Mens Boater Cross:
1st. $150 Alan Mckean
2nd. $75 Alan Clark
3rd. $50 Nick Turner
Women's Boater Cross:
1st. $150 Sue Kertez
2nd. $75 Crystal Young
3rd. $50 Seenie Howard
SUP Race:
1st. $100 Gary Andrade
2nd. $75 Nick Turner
3rd. $50 Jefe Banks
In addition, Jenn Mrozek Killed it in the women's head to head SUP, for which Glide offered up a $200 purse.
Our sponsors showed up in force.
Thank you Glide, Wasatch touring, Get Stuck, WRSI, Teton Adventures, UKS,
Murdoch's, American Whitewater, and Cook Sanders associates(HUGE
FINANCIAL DONATION FOR THE PURSE!)
Great event, and looking forward to next years comp!
Cheers!
