Proposed Oneida Narrows Dam
I'm looking for people who have paddled the Oneida Narrows section of the Bear who might be interested in testifying at the Idaho Department of Water Resources hearing currently scheduled for December (2011). This reach would be submerged if the Twin Lakes Canal Company is successful in gaining approval and building their proposed dam.
Please contact me directly if you have experience on this reach and would be willing to provide written or verbal testimony about the recreational and/or ecological merits of this section.
Thanks,
Charlie Vincent

For those that have never done this, it's actually a fantastic stretch of river. Not very high skill by any means, but beautiful scenery, great wildlife, and very small traffic. It would be a shame to lose this stetch.

Man that run is were I boated with Brain Teats AKA stuntmonkey
at low flows between my first, and second season of boating. That
run helped me in learning to boat alot. It does have all of the aboe
mentioned. As far as wildlife goes there are bald eagles everywhere.
I almost lost a waterproof camera taking a photo of one of them.
If I am in town I will be there to protest the dam. It is great for beginers, fisherman, and people just wanting an easy float. Thinking about it now make me want to plan a trip with Brain, Scott, my self, and anyone else that wants to join. When the snow is higher it has a killer seal launch.

here is a petition to stop the twin lakes canal company's oneida narrows dam.

if anyone wants to they can print out as many petitions as they want, get some signatures on them, and then email me at river.right1@gmail.com to figure out how to get it back to me, it could be faxed, scanned and then sent as an email attachment, or sent via snail mail.
If anyone can take the time to do this it would be greatly appreciated! Every signature counts!
