89 to Riverdale wood Empty 89 to Riverdale wood

This run has changed drastically. from 4700 to 3000 the changes were not so visible, but todays 2300 was a different story. There is a log in the 84 west bridge drop, in the center of what used to be a "down the middle" rapid; this was the first sign that the run had changed (or that wood was emerging); parallel to the current, so its fairly easy to miss it on the left or right, but still, I've never seen wood there before.
Huge new gravel and cobble bars are appearing. The river channel has majorly shifted in some places. It would be hard to pick your way down the best channels right now if you have not done this run recently. Early on, the best channel is the old route, but now that is a small left channel, with 3/4 of the river going right of a huge new cobble bar, then into some log sieves, with one small clean exit that a heads up boat scout could find. You could bank scout from the gravel bars if in doubt. Below Uinta there is another small left channel that is the best route, with a wide gravel bar in the center now.
A half dozen MORE trees have fallen in the river due to undercut eroded banks. Some sunken trees are emerging mid-channel. Nothing riverwide though. Massive, incredible tree carnage; need to get photos of it.
Oh, and Second slide still packs a big punch! Seems bigger than at 3000.
