Central Utah Project - Provo River

Central Utah Project - Provo River Empty Central Utah Project - Provo River

Post by RobA Mon 30 Aug 2010, 2:47 pm

In the August 2010 edition of the Provo United community newsletter, the Mayor of Provo mentions that some of the Central Utah Project water will be added to the flow of the Provo River. Here's what it says exactly:

"The project will not supply water to Provo users, but it will supplement flows in the Provo River in the late summer and early fall months, which should help facilitate fishing and other recreational uses of the river during these months."

Does anyone know where this water will be added in and how many cfs they will be adding? Will it be a net gain for the river or will it be taken out somewhere up higher?

If I understand correctly this water will be coming through the big pipe that they installed this summer in Spanish fork Canyon.
