Looked at the Eggs bend this evening; the 3rd drop has a wave-hole about 8 feet high on the left and center; Very impressive!

plus a few random clips in reverse chronological order. No actual boating unfortunately :-)

Nice Vids Bill,
It's funny how the second Eggs ledge drop now has some similance of a tongue going through it and now the third drop looks like how the second one looked at 2k a few weeks ago.

Here's something to wrap your brains around, the 1952 runoff season saw the Weber hit over 7000cfs! affraid

the offical USGS Gateway gauge:

http://waterdata.usgs.gov/usa/nwis/uv?site_no=10136500

You can change the "Available data for this site" to 'Daily data' then change your 'Begin date' and 'End Date' to as far back as 1921 (for this particular gauge). All the USGS gauges have this option.

How did the gauge survive 7400+?
I think all the historical data uses daily averages (each day is a point, as you will see if you restrict your date range small enough; so each day must be an average over 24 hours); so the hourly peak that day must have been higher than the 24 hour average.

http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/dv?cb_00060=on&cb_00065=on&format=gif_default&begin_date=1952-04-30&end_date=1952-05-07&site_no=10136500&referred_module=sw

I wonder what "measured discharge" means; they just measured 4540.

===
Further examination shows that the Peak Streamflow table for each USGS gauge is not a 24 hour average; it looks like the highest hourly reading.
So, Weber at Gateway hit 7,600cfs on May 05, 1952.

1952 May 05, 1952 9.513 7,600cfs
