Anyone know of any good runs in the Columbus OH area
Moving out to Columbus for a spell and wondering if there is much for whitewater out there. All I can find online is a flatwater paddle group?

I'm actually from Cbus originally and sadly you are going to be largely out of luck as I recall. Closest would probably be I-II on the Mad River. If you travel up towards Cleveland there is some boating around the Cuyahoga.
Everything I remember was flat flat and more flat. Your best bet is the greater Cleveland area (Cuyahoga, Aurora, Chagrin). If you are willing to travel that far, you may just want to venture into eastern PA for better runs.

Check out American Whitewater's run descriptions for Ohio. There's some interesting stuff listed, not sure about their proximity to Columbus.

My son lives there and when I go visit we usually go on out to West VA. or Western Pa. Ohiopile in PA is a good run probably abt. 3-4 hrs away. Yer gonna find a lot more people than you are water. My son does have a couple of play holes that he hits when the water is up. They are building a play park in Daton I think and we played on one that wasn't too bad in, I think it was Springfield, abt. an hour west of Columbus. WEar ear plugs. The water's not as clean as out here. Good luck. email me back an I could give you my son's info so maybe you could get together. ronald.hamblin@gmail.com
