The mighty webe claims another victim.

Not to say the kid wasn't scared but when the S&R claims "the water is running very high and cold this time of the year" and we all know it is less than half of it's normal flow it certainly isn't "very high". I guess it makes for a better story. 


Current Echo flows are 337cfs- normal is 718 cfs.

Yeah, I made those same observations in the comments section. I'll bet the water was a bit chilly without a wetsuit though.  No skirt either, so either a sit atop or more likely some Lifetime kayak not made for rivers more technical or rougher than the Jordon. 
If the kid would wait a month longer the Weber would be running higher and warmer.

I think that was above Rockport res, which was over 1000 when that happened, and would be cold. It was Summit County rescue. And that spot does not look familiar. But, yeah, just swim to shore; its sunny out, you'll warm up.
