Provo Pool Sessions!

Yep, we're doing it! The BYU Whitewater Kayaking Club will be doing pool sessions every-other week this winter, and YOU are welcome to come.

2010 Schedule:
November 10
December 1
December 15

Pool sessions will be at the Provo Rec Center (1155 N. University Ave. Provo) from 9:00-10:30pm. Cost is $5. If you need to rent gear, it is an additional $5 and you will need to contact Brad White at brad.s.white@gmail.com by 5pm the day of the pool session to let him know.

I'll post the 2011 schedule as soon as we have it (might switch to Thursdays in 2011).

Congrats on lift off with both the pool and the club. I'll try to make one of these this season.

FYI, for those planning to attend, since we are a BYU club we try to uphold the BYU honor code. This just means we'd appreciate it if men wore shorts instead of speedos (because of course kayakers are known for sporting speedos under their skirts, right?) and if women would not have bare midriffs (wear a one piece or tankini or rash guard, etc.). Thanks for your cooperation.

Well, I think we all clearly identified where the party is on a Wednesday night in Provo!!! Thanks to all who came and made the first pool session such a success. I counted about 40 people there tonight. Woot! And, I know at least a couple people styled their first ever roll tonight. Congrats! There were lots of smiles all around. Special thanks to Brad for organizing the boat rentals and to Rob for running the sign-in table.

Our next pool session is Wednesday December 1st; same time same place. In the mean time, have a very happy Thanksgiving. If you get out and kayak, post some pics! And, if you only make rivers and kayaks out of your mashed potatoes and gravy... well, feel free to post those pictures too :-).
